Why I love Portland, #5: Beer for dayz
Perhaps it’s the weather, but Portland does make it easy to duck into a warm brewery for a sampler. Or two. Or six.

“Oregon is one of a few states that permits breweries to sell fresh beer for consumption off-premises in large resealable bottles with little or no labeling called growlers. Letting people take beer home this way is resource efficient, and promotes neighborhood patronage of neighborhood industry in a manner that doesn’t promote public inebriation, whether driving is involved or not.”
From Clever Cycles, a great non-pretentious bike shop on SE Hawthorne.
At least beer is always seasonally appropriate.
vegan bahn mi + PBR at Indie Mart last Sunday in Potrero Hill.
This has so much San Francisco* written all over it that I’m a little embarrassed.
* Pop up food thing, vegan, ethnic sandwich, PBR in a brown paper bag, “summer” light, Polaroid, etc.
fortunately, oakland is relatively easy to navigate. otherwise there was no way we would’ve ended up at the fox theatre later that evening.
